GEM 2016 / 2017 Global Report

The 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) survey represents the 18th consecutive year that GEM has tracked rates of entrepreneurship across multiple phases of entrepreneurial activity; assessed the characteristics, motivations and ambitions of entrepreneurs; and explored the attitudes societies have towards this activity. This report includes results based on 65 world economies completing the Adult Population Survey (APS) (between the ages of 18 and 64 years) and 66 economies completing the National Expert Survey (NES). GEM countries in the 2016 survey cover 69.2% of the world’s population and 84.9% of the world’s GDP.

GEM 2015 / 2016 Global Report

The 2015 Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) survey represents the 17th year that GEM has tracked rates of entrepreneurship across multiple phases and assessed the characteristics, motivations and ambitions of entrepreneurs, and the attitudes societies have toward this activity. This report covers results based on 60 economies completing the Adult Population Survey (APS) and 62 economies completing the National Expert Survey (NES). Part 2 of this report features a page of results on each economy, with numbers and rankings on key GEM indicators from the APS, as well as an assessment of ecosystem factors from the NES.

GEM 2014 Global Report

The GEM 2014 Global Report finds that high levels of entrepreneurial optimism, ambition and innovation are vital to advancing economies. The report also finds that entrepreneurship worldwide has recovered from The Great Recession.

GEM -  Global Entrepreneurship Monitor - NATIONAL REPORTS

 

GEM Euroace 2014-2015 Report - Alentejo (Portugal), Centro (Portugal), Extremadura (Spain)

This report discusses entrepreneurship in the EUROACE region i.e. the three European regions of Alentejo, Centro and Extremadura, in the period June 2014 to February 2015. 7.6% of the population between 18 and 64 years old has been involved in entrepreneurial activities in the EUROACE region. The Portuguese region of Centro obtained the highest rate of entrepreneurial activity (TEA) with 7.8% of entrepreneurs, whereas Alentejo has 7.1% and the Spanish region of Extremadura 7.4%.

Financing SMEs and Entrepreneurs 2013: An OECD Scoreboard

Addressing the financing challenge for SMEs and entrepreneurs is imperative for the creation of new jobs, stronger innovation and more sustainable growth. Following the worst financial and economic crisis in decades, as the global economy begins to turn the corner, financing difficulties for SMEs and entrepreneurs remain a stumbling block to recovery in many countries. As governments address this challenge, they are running up against a major and longstanding obstacle to policy making: insufficient evidence and data.
